Anawangin: A Perfect Place to Stay

What is a perfect summer getaway for you?

Well, we all have our own story to tell. I want to share mine. This may not be interesting to read but for those who want to go to Anawangin, Capones and Camara, I'm pretty sure this blog will be very helpful.

Let me start my story with this..

It was in the evening of March 28, 2013 when we went to Victory Liner Monumento to take a bus going to Anawangin. Our experience was really horrible because we had to stay there for 7 hours just to purchase tickets  (So you may want to have your ticket reserved before going there, or else you'll sleep in the terminal, haha!) FYI, the ticket price is P225.00/pax.

Oops, look at her. Merl was still smiling even though she's totally worn out.. LOL!

Exactly 7:30am of March 29, 2013 when we left Monumento. As expected, some passengers were tired so they slept while on board.

Like what others did, I also took a nap. I just woke up when we're already in Olongapo.

The tag lines really caught my attention. (So if you're lazy, you don't have place in Olongapo. LOL!)

Few hours later, we arrived in San Antonio, Zambales near the Municipal Hall.

We stopped for a while in 7-11. Then after a minute or two, we decided to take a tricycle going to Pundaquit (Fare: P35.00/pax).

Since it's already 2:00 pm, we had our (late) lunch at Pearl Island Beach Resort's canteen. From there, we met Ate Nhel (the woman who's wearing the Beatles shirt). She offered banca in going to Anawangin for a reasonable price (P1,500 for all passengers). She already included in the package the island-hopping to Capones and Camara Islands. (I guess that's already cheap.. LOL!).

We closed our deal and gave Ate Nhel P1,000. Right after our lunch, we already left the place and went to the sea shore with Manong (sad to say, we forgot to ask the name of our 'bankero'). Manong was really nice.

Anyway, the travel time from Pundaquit to Anawangin, via boat, is approximately 30-45 minutes. For a first-timer, like me, this ride was really scary. Hihi!

My friend, Merl, used her camera to take photos while we were in the boat.

    Here are some photos:

    Pretty, right?

After 30-45 minutes, we already arrived in Anawangin. Yehey!

As usual, we took photos. This time, I'll just share ONE photo.. Hehe..

After the photo shoot, hihi.. we entered Mansayon Beach Resort.

From there, we set-up our tent. Look at our tent.

Can you imagine four persons inside this tent? (Sardines eto..) Just kidding.. Anyway, thanks Merl for the tent.. Lagi ka nlang special mention ah? Hehe..

We spent Thursday and Friday staying in Anawangin. We just chatted, swam and took a lot of pictures.

    Time flies really fast.

    Saturday

As we woke up in a Saturday morning, we decided to do trekking. This time, we were already six. Jaymon and Pode joined our group.

As we started the 'trekking,' my knees were already shaking. It was because, I was not into climbing mountains. Really! (I have fear of heights. Dumadahilan pa, haha!). Good thing, I was not the only person in the group who's afraid (Am I right, Lissa? hehe).

For me, the mountain was too high but for the other members of the group that can only be compared to a 7-floor building. (I can't really believe it.)

It was very hot when we began the "trekking thing." Imagine, we're only wearing slippers as we went up to the mountains and didn't bring water at all. Very funny..

We stayed at the top of the mountain for more than an hour, I guess.

Upon reaching the top, I just realized that it was indeed a great experience to do the "trekking thing." (Nakakapagod at nakakauhaw pero masaya).

As we went down the mountain, hala.. Ayun.. Hanap kame ng mabibilihan ng water dahil sa sobrang pagkauhaw.. Haha..

Nung makainom na ng tubig, agad kameng nagpunta sa tent. We took some rest, ate our lunch and decided to swim after few hours (PASMA! Haha).

Of course, every trip won't be exciting if you won't hear stories about ghost. Kaya nung kinagabihan nung Saturday, kwentuhan lang kame. Masaya.. Sobra! We ended sharing different stories at 12 MN. Then, we decided to sleep.

    Sunday

As part of the agreement with Manong, he'd fetch us at 5:30 am. Pero ano nangyari, 7:30 am kami nakaalis dahil late na sila nagising.. Diba Merl? Haha..

Then, we rode in a boat again. That time, we're going to Capones. I guess, the estimated time of travel from Anawangin to Capones was 10-15 minutes. During that time, the waves were just like mad floods. Sobra! That was also the reason why we were unable to see the Light House in Capones. Sad :'(

Though that made us feel bad, we still enjoyed Capones. The beach is very beautiful which can be compared to Boracay and Puerto Galera.

After an hour and a half stay in Capones, we moved to Camara. What I liked in Camara were the waves. Sad to say, we were unable to take pictures of it. I guess, if you're there that time you'll enjoy seeing the waves too.

Overall, our experience was superb! I love Anawangin very much.

    See you soon, Anawangin.. :)

For those who are interested to go to Anawangin, Zambales, here are some tips:

Bring a lot of water and foods. The cost of foods and water there is too high!
Don't expect for electricity. There's no power supply there.
No signal. Mapa-Globe, Sun at Smart ka pa.
Prepare P100/pax for the entrance fee if you'll stay there overnight.
Give 'tip' sa mga bankero. We learned from our bankero na porsyentohan lang pla sila. Pambili lang ng bigas yung nakukuha nila :'(

Ano pa ba? Hmmm.. Basta maeenjoy nyo ung Anawangin Trip nyo sobra.. Ang ganda ng Anawangin.. Capones.. at Camara..

See you in my next blog...

    Edward :)
